Bellingham Racial History Timeline
About the project:
This project is a collaborative initiative of university faculty, students, and community members – from diverse racial backgrounds – who care about the future of Bellingham.
The lack of racial diversity in Bellingham is not an accident. Colonization, followed by a history of discriminatory practices, policies, and events, have shaped our city. We have to understand our history to create a future in which everyone belongs and can flourish together.
